Petrography

The field trip on Petrography is an extension of the lectures and thin-section microscopy study of the “Petrography” course.

The practice work aims students to receive training in work with natural geological sites and with processes leading to rock alterations. The practice work is carried out on touring principle which enables opportunity to be visited numerous and various geological sites comprising the main rock groups (igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks). The obtained knowledge and skills will enable students to recognize in the field the varieties of igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks.
